Common Mistakes That Affect Print Quality
Here are the most frequent issues we see that lead to disappointing DTF results. Avoiding these will dramatically improve your success rate.
Top Mistake: Using semi-transparent pixels on edges, drop shadows, or feathered selections. These often print lighter than expected and create unwanted light halos.
Other Frequent Mistakes:
- Using JPG files instead of PNG – Compression artifacts become very visible when printed.
- Low Resolution – Working below 300 DPI makes prints look soft or pixelated.
- Using CMYK Mode – We get better results from RGB files because our system is tuned for our specific inks.
- Large Solid Color Blocks – These use more ink, feel heavier, and can crack easier over time.
- Not Testing on Shirt Color – Designs that look great on screen may look very different on dark shirts.
