Resolution & Image Quality

Why 300 DPI matters and how to get sharp, professional prints

Why Resolution Matters

DPI stands for “Dots Per Inch” and directly controls how sharp and detailed your final DTF print will be.

For the best possible results, we strongly recommend working at 300 DPI or higher. This is the industry standard for high-quality printing. Lower resolutions (such as 72 DPI or 150 DPI) will make your prints look soft, pixelated, or blurry — especially on text, fine lines, and detailed artwork.

Think of it like this: At 300 DPI, there are 300 dots of information packed into every inch of your image. The more dots, the sharper and more professional the final print looks.

What if my image is low resolution?

You can try to improve it using free AI upscaling tools. While no tool can create detail that wasn’t originally there, modern AI upscalers can often make a noticeable improvement.

Recommended Free Tools:
  • Upscayl – Excellent free AI image upscaler
  • Photopea (browser-based) – Use Image → Image Size and set to 300 DPI

Pro Tip: Whenever possible, start your designs at 300 DPI from the beginning. It’s much easier than trying to fix low resolution later.
